As a Washington State OSPI approved online provider, MSE offers a wide range of asynchronous online courses. All courses are set up per semester lasting 18 weeks (9 weeks for Credit Recovery).
Credit Recovery is only for students who have previously failed the course. All credit recovery courses are 9 weeks in length and cost $229 per semester. Credit Recovery courses are graded on a Pass/Fail basis.

High School Earth & Space Science A/B
This inquiry- and lab-based course is designed to support modern science curriculum and teaching practices. Itrobustly meets NGSS learning standards associated with high school Earth and space science. Content topicsinclude scientifi c processes and methods, the universe, the Precambrian Earth, the Earth’s materials andtectonics, the hydrosphere and atmosphere, and human interactions with the Earth’s systems andresources.Each lesson includes one or more inquiry-based activities that can be performed online within thecontext of the lesson. In addition, the course includes a signifi cant number of hands-on lab activities.Approximately 40% of student time in this course is devoted to true lab experiences, as defi ned by the NationalResearch Council (2006, p. 3).Lab materials note: Most hands-on labs employ relatively-common householdmaterials. A few labs require specialized scientifi c equipment or materials, such as an electronic balance(0.01g), graduated cylinders, and a water testing kit. These few specialized labs are optional but providevaluable laboratory experience. School laboratories may be used for these specialized labs or single-studentEdmentum Lab Kits may be purchased from Ward’s Science.
