Course Catalog
As a Washington State OSPI approved online provider, MSE offers a wide range of asynchronous online courses. All courses are set up per semester lasting 18 weeks (9 weeks for Credit Recovery).
Credit Recovery is only for students who have previously failed the course. All credit recovery courses are 9 weeks in length and cost $229 per semester. Credit Recovery courses are graded on a Pass/Fail basis.

Pre-Calculus A/B
Semester A develops the foundational concepts students need for advanced study in mathematics. This part of the course focuses on right-triangle trigonometry, the unit circle, and the behavior of trigonometric functions. Students learn to graph functions accurately, analyze transformations, and apply fundamental identities and equations to solve problems. This part of the course also introduces vectors and their applications, giving students tools to represent magnitude and direction in real-world and mathematical contexts. A strong emphasis is placed on understanding how each concept connects visually and algebraically, scaffolded by tutorial and interactive videos. In semester B, students will extend their understanding of functions and apply them across a broad range of precalculus topics, including conic sections, parametric equations, polynomial and rational functions, complex numbers, matrices, polar coordinates, and some statistical ideas. Students learn how these tools describe motion, growth, rotation, and real-world patterns, selecting appropriate functions to model meaningful situations and solve applied problems. Graphing is an important focus, as students identify key features, compare representations, and connect algebraic expressions to geometric behavior. Throughout the course, student build fluency with symbolic manipulation and graphical interpretation, supported by the recommended use of a scientific or graphics calculator for assignments and examinations.
