As a Washington State OSPI approved online provider, MSE offers a wide range of asynchronous online courses. All courses are set up per semester lasting 18 weeks (9 weeks for Credit Recovery).

Credit Recovery is only for students who have previously failed the course.  All credit recovery courses are 9 weeks in length and cost $229 per semester. Credit Recovery courses are graded on a Pass/Fail basis.

Language Arts 12 A/B

Course Description

Semester A focuses on British Literature from the Anglo-Saxon period up to Romanticism. Students will analyze how the English language evolved over time and how events of the time influenced the writings for each period. Epics, short stories, poetry, drama, and essays will be analyzed in depth to enrich students’ comprehension. Each module includes a style of composition for students to explore with the help of student examples to act as a guide. Semester B continues with the Victorian era to Modernism of British Literature. Students will explore fiction and nonfiction of the Victorian Era in addition to applying what they have learned from the course to the study of a novel. The course ends with students practicing and polishing their public speaking and performance skills.
