Market Square Education (MSE) is a comprehensive educational organization that provides innovative options for districts, schools, and students. Founded as Northwest Liberty School in 2008 to support and provide solutions to individual students, MSE has evolved into a “market square” of services that continues to offer educational options for individuals, and now to schools and districts across the state.
We offer comprehensive and turn-key solutions through online curriculum offerings, an industry-leading student management system, implementation, and support. Working hand-in-hand with local representatives, we provide a scalable, customized blend of responsive approach that meets the needs of each student and community.
Market Square Education is an Office of Superintendent for Public Instruction (OSPI) approved provider of online curriculum, which can be used exclusively virtual or in a blended model. We offer academic support, subject-endorsed teachers, student engagement monitoring, Alternative Learning Experience (ALE) and Open Doors (OD) reporting requirement fulfillment, professional development, and best practices for optimizing the online learning experience. Secondary students can enroll 365 days a year. We provide credit recovery courses, secondary summer school, recapture of FTEs through alternative learning programs, and advanced placement courses.
MSE’s leadership brings decades of in-state experience as superintendents, principals, and teachers of Gen Ed and alternative learning programs. We’ve experienced first-hand the challenges districts and schools face. At a fundamental level, we meet students where they are. We work with homeschoolers, Gen Ed students, drop-outs, high-risk students dealing with substance, criminal, or homelessness, and highly successful students needing to augment their learning. To best support our students, we partner with parents, court liaisons, social workers, counselors, schools, and districts to support students.
Market Square Education is built on the cornerstones of autonomy, connection, and competency. MSE believes that as these components are acquired, students will develop internal motivation. If learning is student-led, engagement is higher, motivation is increased, and information becomes internalized.
Our partners appreciate collaborating with MSE to identify the options that meet the learning objectives of their students from accelerated to those who struggle, from the general education students to the credit recovery and drop-outs to find solutions that work.
