Advanced Drawing
Cost: $299 per semester
Prerequisites: Drawing
Length: One semester (16-weeks)
Required Course Materials: The New Drawing with the Right Side of the Brain by Betty Edwards. Students also need the following art supplies to successfully complete the class: pencils, colored pencils, kneaded or plastic eraser, drawing paper, and 9×12 colored paper according to assignments.
Course Description: Market Square Education’s Advanced Drawing is the second level of the Drawing series offered. Advanced Drawing focuses on understanding color theory, drawing portraits, using color in art, and creating a portfolio of artistic pieces. It builds on the skills learned in perspectives in Drawing I.
Because this course is independent study, students are expected to pace themselves in the completion of the projects, which develops critical time-management skills. At the end of the course, a course reflection essay will solidify student growth as an artist, a drawer, and a student.
